A Respite from the bet

Ahhh, I've spent so long writing of the lady's viewpoint that I need a few moments to shift perspective to Stephen's story. Unfortunately, he remains much less cooperative when it comes to providing insight into his reactions. Most men rush carelessly into situations; Stephen examines everything before stepping in. Pity, that.

He remains close-lipped about his desires as well. Perhaps his conscience dictates this, or perhaps the fear of losing that prodigious self control demands it. *soft laughter* We shall see.
